Wedding photo guides
One month before the wedding, your photo preparation checklist
Once photography is booked, think about the people and moments you want to remember. From a note for your photographer to a destination for guest photos, here is what to prepare a month before the wedding.
Agree on photography timings
Give your photographer the ceremony schedule, venue contacts and any moments you particularly want to capture. Sharing them together makes planning easier.
- Confirm arrival time, the start and end of coverage and a contact number for the day.
- Ask when the full gallery will arrive and whether you can receive preview photos first. Note any extra fee alongside the agreement.
Plan photos with family and friends
Think about the people celebrating alongside you. Note portraits with your parents and photos with relatives or friends travelling from far away.
- List who will join family portraits and agree on a time and meeting place with your photographer and venue.
- Ask a close friend for a few guest reactions or candid moments before the ceremony, while encouraging them to enjoy the day.
Choose one place for guest photos
Choose a destination before photos scatter across conversations. An existing group chat can suit a few friends; shared albums and QR code albums can help collect from a wider guest list.
- Think about who will upload and which family members will view when choosing upload and sharing settings.
- Decide whether you want videos and family invitations, then check storage capacity and duration. Test an upload from another phone before telling guests.
Prepare invitations, printed signs and announcements
Once you choose a destination, use the same link in your invitation and on the day. Prepare it before ordering printed materials to avoid changing the address later.
- Add the upload link to your digital invitation. Put a short request and QR code together on printed signs.
- Scan a printed code yourself and tell your emcee where guests will find it and when to mention it.
Plan a little time to organize photos afterwards
After the wedding, thank-you messages and travel plans may keep you busy. Prepare your request message and a folder now to make photos easier to gather later.
- Have a short photo request and the same upload link ready to include with your thank-you message.
- Choose a date to download originals before storage ends and create a folder for the photos you want to share with your parents.
